What do you have In Jesus? You are Blessed and Chosen

by Amy A. Charbonneau / May 4, 2020

#1: blessed and chosen

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him...” (Eph. 1:3-4, ESV)

The letter to the church in Ephesis is one of my favorites!  Paul clearly unveils the “mystery” of the church and God’s intention for humanity.

What is the Mystery?  According to Eph. 3:6-that the Gentiles (you and I) should be fellow heirs of the body of Christ and partakers of His promises in Jesus through the Gospel (Jesus’ death, burial, resurrection and appearance).

As an heir, what do you gain??

I encourage you to sit down and read through Ephesians 1 several times. Grab a pen and journal so you can write down every blessing you receive in Christ Jesus.  I will name a few below:

In verse 3 says you are blessed with every spiritual blessing in the Heavenly places!  Wow!  This means you have divine resources and privileges as God’s son or daughter.  Verse 4 continues by saying you were “chosen” before the foundations of the world!  I really want you to think about these two things.

You are blessed with every spiritual blessing and you were chosen...before there was even a world for humans to live on!

If you have declared belief in the death, burial, resurrection and appearance of Jesus Christ, you are a son or daughter of God!  Your true identity is Chosen and Blessed.

God selected YOU.  I hope you are hearing my heart right now. YOU are extraordinary and have gifts, talents and abilities that make you unique. Your life is a beautiful gift to humanity and the body of Christ needs you to be your amazing self!

How do you do that?  Well, accept the other truth listed above. You are blessed: consecrated, set apart, holy, sanctified.  Everything you need to live God’s plans and purposes for you in this earth is found in your identity in Jesus and the relationship you build with Him through the Bible, prayer and worship.

God wants to walk and talk with you. He wants to help you be the fullness of all you were designed to be.

Be encouraged today!!! Let me pray with you:

Father, I thank you for the person reading this right now. I pray that Your Holy Spirit would minister truth to their heart and mind and teach them how precious they are to You.  Guide them through Your word and let it be etched upon their heart for Your glory.

Change us Father, make us more like Jesus each and every day.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen

I pray you experience the peace of God in your life today
